A large number of MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) are offered via the Internet. These courses can be freely accessed by anyone. Kyoto University has offered MOOCs since 2013, when it became the first Japanese university to participate in edX, the platform for MOOCs co-founded by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University. Also under this project, courses in respective research areas are offered in English through this scheme, thereby attracting students from all over the world. By offering MOOCs, we aim to increase Kyoto University’s presence and attract a greater number of highly motivated students with high potential.

You can find a list of Kyoto University’s MOOCs here.
